Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has tasked Muslims in the State to live according to the will of Allah and use their wealth to promote the religion of Islam.
The Governor gave the task while speaking at the 1.5 Billion Naira Fund Raising for the Construction of International Islamic Centre of the Muslim Community of Oyo State held at the Association’s permanent site, opposite AERODROME G.R.A, Samonda, Ibadan.
The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to Oyo State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli emphasized the need for the Muslims to teach their wards in the way of Allah and give them both Islamic and Western Education.
He admonished all the Muslims across the State to support the Muslim Community by contributing their quota towards the realization of the International Islamic Centre Project. Gov.Ajimobi, therefore, enjoined the people of the State to continue to support all the programmes and policies of the Government for overall development of the State.
Earlier, the Chairman Muslim Community of Oyo State, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, appealed to wealthy people in the Society to desist from spending extravagantly rather than spending on the projects that will benefit many people and make them be even remembered after their lifetime. He appreciated Gov.Ajimobi for approving the allocation of the land for the Muslim Community as well as his unflinching support at all times.
In his short Sermon, Alhaji Habibullahi Buhari, spoke extensively on the virtues of spending in the path of Allah, urging Muslims to use their wealth to assist the poor people in the society and spend to uplift the religion of Allah.
