The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja facilitated the movement of 3.36 million passengers between January and September, figures from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria have shown.
The statistics showed that 2.6 million people travelled locally while 689,388 passengers travelled through the international wing within the nine-month period.
About 1.36 million and 1.30 million passengers were recorded on domestic arrivals and departure respectively while 340,171 international passengers arrived at the airport, and 349,217 passengers travelled out of the country during the period.
A total of 1.02 million passengers were recorded in the first quarter of the year; 1.1 million in the second quarter and 1.23 million passengers in the third quarter of the year.
The report revealed that 339,452 passengers travelled through the airport in January, comprising 263,625 domestic and 75,827 international passengers; 303,571 in February comprising 248,863 domestic and 54,708 international passengers; 378,881 passengers comprising 309,571 domestic and 69,310 international passengers passed through the airport in March.
