Anyone attending a New Edition concert could be sure to anticipate some drama with the tension between the group members especially on tours being storied. The RBRM concert at the FlyTime Music Festival in Lagos Nigeria on December 22 was not devoid of it.

Tagged, Bobby Brown and Bell Viv DeVoe, the event featured three of New Edition’s original members and Ronnie Devoe. The quartet of Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and DeVoe performing under the name RBRM thrilled fans to hits from New Edition and their own solo projects: Bel Biv DeVoe and Bobby Brown.

FirstBank, as part of its December tickets giveaway tagged #FirstBankIssaVybe and #DecemberIssaVybe sponsored two lucky followers of its social media pages to the premium event. The lucky winners who got VIP tickets got to sit right in front of the stage and enjoy free drinks from the event sponsors.

Songs performed included My Prerogative (Bobby Brown), Roni (Bobby Brown), Mr, Telephone Man (New Edition), Hit Me Up (New Edition) and BBD’s Poison. During the performance of Ronnie, Brown who was visibly shaking, took a long pause. His fellow group members and even the DJ exchanged worried looks with Bell eventually stepping up to the mic to start the rap accompanying the song, prompting Brown to retrieve the tune almost forcefully. After the song, went on a mini rant about how song was specifically written for him by famed producer/songwriter Kenneth “BabyFace” Edmonds.

“Yeah, brother,” Bell replied, but you know we have to jump in on some verses to keep the show going.”

All in all, the concert was pretty much thrilling that the drama might have been missed by some members of the overjoyed audience.

FirstBank’s VIP guests could not express their gratitude enough for the beautiful experience.
