Ex-boss of Gambian FA has been handed a four-year ban by FIFA
FIFA has also imposed a fine of USD 200,000 on Seedy Kenteh
The investigation leading to the ban was started in March 2017
The World football governing body, FIFA has handed the former Gambian Football Federation boss a four-year ban from all football-related activities for corruption.
FIFA’s Adjudicatory Chamber of independent Ethics Committee found Seedy Kenteh guilty of taking a bribe from former FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hamman in the run-up to the 2011 presidential elections.
In a statement, FIFA said, “The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Seedy Kinteh, former President of the Gambia Football Federation, for four years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.”
The investigations on Kinteh started in March 2017.
The statement said that Kinteh was found to have violated some laws of FIFA on the receiving and accepting gifts. The international body, therefore, imposed a fine on Kinteh as well.
