Water is very important for human health. There are different arguments as to when it is ideal to take water, however, medical research has pointed out that water can be taken at anytime of the day but in measured quantity, especially at night.
Below are the health importance of taking water at night.
Hydration
It is very healthy to keep the body hydrated and water is very important for this. Taking water at night aids hydration. A glass of water before sleeping helps hydration which helps to prevent headache, constipation, dry mouth and irregular urinating. However, avoid taking too much of water before bed so you do not end up with limited sleep.
Detoxification
Taking enough water helps to detoxify the body, especially at night. During the day, the body might be exposed to different toxins which is not beneficial to the health, taking water before bed time aids detoxification and removal of toxins from the body. This helps to feel energised in the morning, when you wake up.
Better sleep
Taking water before bed improves the quality of sleep. According to research, people who drink water before they sleep wake up feeling refreshed, every tissue energised and rejuvenated in the morning. Also, water improves body functions and gets them in balance.
Burning Calories
According to research, taking water before bedtime helps burn calories. However, it has been advised to stick to room temperature water as this works better in burning calories. It also helps with blood circulation which aids sweat output. Sweating will not only remove some unwanted fluid through the night, but it will also remove excess salts or toxins and clean the skin cells.
Some people do not like to take plain water because it might be too bland, you can add lemon to your water before bed. This can add flavor to the water, and lemon also contains vitamin C, an added benefit that can help to boost your immune system as it fights infection.
