Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated elder statesman, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo as he clocks 92 years.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, the Governor said Delta and Nigeria will continue to benefit from Ogbetuo’s struggle to bring about good governance in the State and Country.
He described the nonagenerian as a leader, who epitomises selflessness and statesmanship, and prayed that God would raise more leaders in Ogbetuo’s mould in Delta and Nigeria’s political and socio-economic firmament.
Governor Oborevwori, said: “On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Delta State, I congratulate our father and leader, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo, on his 92nd birth anniversary.
“As a great patriot and elder statesman, you have made significant contributions to the growth and stability of Delta State and Nigeria through your selfless service to humanity.
“As a one time Chairman of Delta Elders and Leaders Forum, you displayed an uncommon wisdom and irrepressible courage in your service and was very instrumental to my emergence as Governor.
“You contributed actively to the political evolution and emancipation of Delta State and we owe you a great deal of gratitude.
“As you celebrate your 92nd birth anniversary today, I join your family, friends, well-wishers and Urhobos worldwide to thank Almighty God for your life and to pray that He continues to bless you with robust health, greater wisdom, guidance, protection and enduring provisions”.
