NADESSTU honours Oborevwori with icon of educational devt award

The National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU WORLDWIDE) in conjunction with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have presented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori with a Merit Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the educational sector.

The award was presented to Governor Oborevwori during a courtesy visit at Government House, Asaba on Tuesday.

Speaking during the presentation, NADESSTU President, Comrade Monday Wiska, said the award celebrates Governor Oborevwori’s achievements, including approval for year 2023 and 2024 bursary payment to 30,116 and 32,028 students respectively.

He also listed enhanced access to quality education, improved infrastructure in schools, and promotion of educational reforms that support student’s development as other reasons for the award.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized his commitment to continuous improvements in education within the state.

He highlighted various programs implemented under his administration aimed at providing better learning environments, and increasing educational opportunities for students.

The highlight of the visit was the donation of a bus to NADESSTU by the Governor and the presentation of the NADESSTU MERIT AWARD by the National President, Comr Wiska Monday to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori as a plenipotentiary Gold Icon of Educational Development in Delta State.
