President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). This makes her the first woman to hold the position. The appointment was announced today, June 28, 2025.
Hadiza Bala Usman previously served as Special Adviser on Policy Coordination to President Tinubu and was Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) from 2016 to 2021.
