The new Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole has pledged for the cooperation of the Executive and the Legislative arms of government in order to harmonious deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
Kolawole who made the pledge when he paid a courtesy call on the Special Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, said harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government is very paramount especially at the present critical economic situation, adding that the cooperation is the only way the state can witness rapid development and easy passage of bills for the benefit of the masses.
The Speaker also assured the Special Adviser that his office will always collaborate with the ministry of local government, saying the ministry provide the easy access to reach out to the general public which he noted formed the chunk of the society.
He promised to extend similar visit to other government agencies , parastatals and local government council with a view to encourage them to come up with executive bills to enhance good governance which he added is paramount to the present administration.
In his response, the Special Adviser , said the ministry will always avail itself of the ideas, creativity and wealth of experience of the new speaker, assuring him of the ministry’s cooperation at all times.
