LAGOS, NIGERIA – April 27, 2026

The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, on behalf of the entire management and staff, extends hearty congratulations to renowned Nigerian entrepreneur, sports enthusiast, and founder of ValueJet, Mr. Kunle Soname, on the occasion of his 60th birthday today.

In a press release signed by the Authority’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection,  Mr Henry Agbebire, the FAAN MD/CE described Mr. Soname as a trailblazer whose contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector have left an indelible mark. Through the establishment of ValueJet, one of the country’s leading private airlines, Soname demonstrated uncommon courage, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

“Mr. Kunle Soname is not just a businessman; he is a visionary who saw what many could not and dared to venture where others hesitated. His journey in aviation reflects the very spirit of enterprise that Nigeria celebrates. At FAAN, we are proud to have his airline as a trusted partner in our collective mission to elevate air travel standards across the nation,” the press release stated.

Beyond aviation, the FAAN chief also lauded Soname’s passion for sports development, particularly his investments in Nigerian football, which have provided platforms for young talents to shine on continental stages.

“As you mark this golden milestone of six decades, we pray for continued strength, wisdom, and good health. May your legacy continue to inspire the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs and aviators,” the statement added.

FAAN reaffirms its commitment to supporting indigenous airlines like ValueJet through improved airport infrastructure, streamlined operations, and enhanced passenger facilitation.

Once again, congratulations to Mr. Kunle Soname on his 60th birthday, a true Nigerian patriot and industry icon
