Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, on the passing of his beloved mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru, who died in the early hours of Sunday.

In a statement issued Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged the bereaved family, friends and associates to accept the loss as the will of Allah.

The Governor described the late Alhaja Basiru as a woman who lived a fulfilled life, raised worthy children, and made lasting impact in her community.

“No doubt the death of a loved one is painful and irreparable, but we must take solace in God when the deceased has lived a good life,” he said.

“On behalf of my wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, our family, the Lagos State Government, and all APC leaders and members in Lagos, I sympathize with Senator Ajibola Basiru, his siblings, and the entire Basiru family on the demise of Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru.

“The elderly wisdom and counsel of Mama Basiru will be sorely missed, not only by her family but by her community, friends and all who knew her.

“I pray that Allah grants Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru Aljanah Firdaus, and gives Senator Ajibola Basiru and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.” Sanwo-Olu said.
