Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Sunday swears in the newly elected 44 local government chairmen at Sani Abacha indoor stadium Kofar Mata today.
The state independent electoral commission( KANSIEC) conducted the local government elections on Saturday Feb 10, across the 44 local government that was contested with 25 opposition parties excluding the PDP that went to court to to stop the elections but was not successful.
The Attorney General of the state and Commissioner of Justice Barr. Ibrahim Mukhtar, administered the oath of office to the elected chairmen that were divided into three segment according to their three senatorial zone for the swearing.
In a remark immediately after the swearing in the state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said the success of the election shows the development of democracy in Kano, as well as the nation as local governments authority is the government that touch the public from grassroots level.
