AC Milan are in talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on a season-long loan deal, reports Sky Sports.
Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco 12 months ago in a deal worth £40m but endured a nightmare debut campaign in England.
The France international missed out on a spot in Didier Deschamps’ 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup and seemingly has no future at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have already signed Jorginho from Napoli and are on the verge of prising Mateo Kovacic away from Real Madrid, forcing Bakayoko further down the pecking order.
Bakayoko had knee surgery prior to his arrival from Monaco and failed to get going and now Milan want to offer him an escape route from his Chelsea hell.
The 23-year-old made 29 appearances in the Premier League last season but ended the campaign with a less-than-impressive WhoScored rating of 6.87.
Surprisingly, Chelsea have a far superior win ratio in the league when Bakayoko played (62.1%) compared to the nine matches he did not feature in (33.3%).
