As Interim Chairman of the APC, he provided principled leadership and laid the foundation for the historic political hurricane that swept away the incumbent government in 2015, and birthed a new era of progressive governance in our country.
A quintessential Awoist and progressive, Baba Akande was a leading campaigner for Nigeria’s return to democracy. His reputation as a man of high integrity, discipline, courage, and illustrious service stand as stellar benchmark for leadership in our country.
At 87, Baba Akande remains an eloquent voice of reason and an embodiment of the moral conscience of our nation’s political establishment. His uprightness and steadfast love of country continue to instruct today’s leaders and inspire the next generation of nation builders.
