The All Progressives Congress (APC) will provide the people of South East the shortest route to produce the much clamoured and sought Igbo presidency in Nigeria after President Buhari’s second tenure.
The Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Ugonna Ozuruigbio, who stated this in recent event in Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial nerve centre, said since the North would have taken their turn in 2023 after President Buhari’s second tenure, the presidency will return to the South.
He argued that if it returned to the South, it is logical that the South East would take the slot, since the South West and South South have taken their turn in Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan respectively. The legislator expressed hope that APC will retain power at the centre after the 2019 general election, saying ” we in APC are prepared for the 2019 election.
We are prepared to stay in power for the next 16 years”. He said Uche Nwosu, the Chief of Staff and son-In-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha was his choice and that of most members of the Imo State House of Assembly for the Governor of Imo State after 2019 general election.
He said the party may say otherwise but for him and most Members of the House “Nwosu is our choice because he is capable and has what it takes to be the Governor”.
The Deputy Speaker said the members of Imo State House of Assembly have impacted on the people by making laws that have direct bearing to their needs. He said such laws include free education law, Community Government Council law, which has redefined democracy to bring it closer to the grass root and other laws.
