Human rights activist and senior lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to quickly prefer a criminal charge against Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina before a competent court following his N100bn corruption indictment.

Maina was declared wanted by the EFCC in 2015, following his indictment in a N100 billion pension scam. Maina was , however, discovered to have been recalled last week and posted to the Ministry of Interior as a director.

But Falana has condemned the development and said that since Maina has been located, the operatives of the anti graft agency have a duty to charge him to court without any further delay.

In a statement made available last night, Falana added that the head of service and interior minister who shielded him from prosecution should also be charged with aiding and abetting the felon.

He said, “Those who recalled and promoted the fugitive from the law should also be sanctioned by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve as a deterrent to others who may wish to sabotage the war against corruption.”
