The Asiwaju Progressive Movement, a support group, has tackled the management of media conglomerate, Arise TV, for its continuous display of unprofessionalism on air.
The group who declared that the Media organisation has always displayed crass bias against the person of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also called on necessary authorities to call the Television station’s management to order.
Speaking through Joshua Owoyomi, its spokesperson, the group explained that Arise TV has dragged the noble profession of journalism on the floor through its inability to act professionally, and open display of bias.
“Arise TV should arise to professionalism
The noble profession of journalism and broadcasting is currently being dragged on the floor by the inability of Arise TV to arise to professionalism. One wonders what is the motivation behind the recent show of shame by the television station and why it is behaving like a jillted girlfriend, crying about like one who’s virginity was taken without consent”, Owoyomi said.
The group questioned Arise TV’s overtly play of politics, thereby neglecting the ethics of broadcasting.
The statement reads further:
“It is unbecoming that a professional outlet like AriseTV will overtly play politics abandoning core ethics of the profession”.
“At this point, it is necessary to advise the management of Arise TV to send her staff for serious professional training that will help them retrace their steps to professionalism”.
“If there is still any sense of professionalism left with any member of Arise TV management now is the time to make use of it and face the business of truly being a news media and not a coded political platform struggling for relevance”.
