The nation’s 62nd Independence Day anniversary has come and gone, as this piece is being written today, October 9, 2022. However, the Nation is still basking in the euphoria of its independence. Amid the general downturn in the economy, the huge insecurity across the nation, and the lingering ASUU strike that has left many state and federal universities under lock, some companies are still able to pull off a relatively celebration-worthy performance over the years.

One of such companies is the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, whose performance so far has been judged satisfactory by its teeming customers.
Eko Electricity Distribution Company has always had its customers’ interest at heart. EKO Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC or EKEDP) is responsible for the electricity distribution activities of the southern part of Lagos state and Agbara in Ogun state. EKEDC covers Agbara, Ojo, Festac, Ijora, Mushin, Orile, Apapa, Lekki, Ibeju and Island.
The company’s exceptional job in upholding its laid down legacy, such that electricity has become an abundant essential commodity. A testament to the success of many small and medium scale businesses owing to the affordable cost of electricity.

Tinuade Sanda, who is the first female Managing Director of the company has not disappointed customers and major stakeholders of the company in her leadership style.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Management Consultants, US and Institute of Professional Financial Managers, London, she is also an Associate Member of the Risk Management Association of Nigeria and the Institute of Directors, Nigeria.

In fact, under her leadership, the purchase and fueling of generators that run on Automotive Gas oil also known as diesel, Premium Motor Spirit; also known as petrol or fuel, is gradually fizzling out in some areas under Eko Electricity Distribution Company. Some are forced to lease out their plants and generators.
Customers have always directed their complaints to the appropriate authorities, and they have surely had their problems addressed satisfactorily.

The leading Nigeria’s power distribution company, also has a customer care solution, which offers real-time customers complaints resolution and 24-hour customer support service.
The number works like the regular WhatsApp platform and enables seamless two-way communication between the customer and the company through the chat interface. The company has reorganized and restructured itself to bring in customer centricity in its systems, processes, and most importantly amongst our team members. The 24hrs customer line 07080655555 enables customers to register their complaints, compliments and requests.
The company encourages its customers to use its online facility for convenience and prompt service delivery.

Eko Electricity Distribution Company has opened many frontiers for easy payment of electricity bills for Lagosians. An instance is the JumiaPay, which makes it convenient for customers to pay for EKEDC electricity bills anytime and anywhere they want!
With this no customer needs to leave their current location; JumiaPay allows them to enjoy simple and fast payment for electricity bills right where they are.

It allows fast and easy payment for EKEDC Electricity Bill from Wherever You Are.
Under Sanda’s leadership, the DisCo has increased energy reliability/availability and improved the company’s customer satisfaction index.

Satisfactorily, she has led the next phase of the company’s growth by aggressively reducing Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection losses.
