Thirty-seven political parties are to contest the Anambra State governorship election coming up on Saturday, November 18, this year.
Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has released the list of candidates cleared for the election.
This according to the Commission is in accordance with Section 31 (3) of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended). A breakdown of the list released by INEC yesterday showed that five female candidates are contesting for the governorship seat, while eight other female candidates are vying for the office of Deputy Governor.
The candidates and their running mates in alphabetical order as well as their parties are; Uju Uchendu Ozoka (female) running on the platform of AA, with Theresa Nnalue (f) as her running mate,, Nwezi Felix Amechi (AGAP), with Okeke Florence Njideka as his deputy and Oby Kate Okafor (f) of the ACD, with Onyekwuluje Chidi as her running mate. Others are; Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba of the ACPN, with Ebele Onyinye Angel (f) as his running mate; Paul Chukwudi Obianaso of the ADC, with Francis Amechi Agumadu as the running mate, Ifeanyichukwu Edward Reginald Okonkwo; of the ADP with Nnadozie Ndujekwu Ike as the deputy, Nwoye Tony Okechukwu of the APC with Dozie Ikedife Arinze as deputy and Adaeze Chizube Okafor (f) of APDA with Oguejiofor Franklin (f) as running mate.
Others are; Willie Maduabuchi Obiano of APGA with Nkemakonam C. Okeke as his deputy, Nweke Christopher Chukwudubem of the APP with Akabike D’law Ifeanyichukwu as running mate, Ohanugo Ikem Ceci of the BNPP with Eze Nnabuike Ogbonna as deputy; Emmanuel Uchenna Nwibe of the DA with Okpezune Nnaemeka Kingsley as running mate; Edochie Yul Chibuike of the DPC with Okeke Oluchukwu as deputy and Onuorah Basil Onyeachonam of the GPN with Chukwuanu Genevieve Nonye as running mate. Others include; Samuel Osita Oraegbunam of the HDP with Arthur Regis Odidika as deputy, Ndife Franklin Ikenna of the ID with Nwabude Stephen Jachike as running mate, RUFUS Okeke Sunday Ezeokolonkwor of KOWA with Ezeonyirimba Charles Izuchukwu as deputy, Christian Okechukwu Enemuo of LP and Okoye Obi Vincent as running mate; Okafor Onyeka Christian of MMN with Onwuka Osita as deputy, Praise Okechukwu (f) MPPP with Ugochukwu Emmanuel Ndubuisi as deputy, Chinedu Uzoma Okpalanma of NCP with Chukwuma Ivan Egeonu as running mate and Benneth Abaniwu of the NDLP with PETER CHUDI OKOYE as deputy.
The list included: Felix A.R. Obi-Okafor of the NEPP with Nneka Anasudu (f) as deputy, Okafor Charles Ogbonna of NNPP with Okolie Oliver Elvis running mate, Val. Okey Oguejiofor of the NPC with Okafor Ejike Samuel as deputy, Nnoli Amechi Justin of the NUP with Agbata Martin Ikechukwu as a running mate, Peter Chibike of PDC with Okudo Christian Chukwuemeka as deputy, Oseloka Henry Obaze of PDP with Chidi Alexandra Onyemelukwe as deputy. Others include: Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo of PPA with Prince Leonard Uchendu as running mate; Henry Ikechukwu Onuora of PPN With Igboanusi Glory Ugochi as deputy, Kenneth Ejike Modezie of PPP with Chinweze Ogechukwu (f) as running mate, Stephen Obiorah Mbah of PRP with Onyejiaka Norbert Anabalaonye as deputy, Ifeanyi L. Obalum of SDP with Clement Chukwuraa Okafor as deputy, and Stanley Uche Ezeanyaku of UDP with Eric Chijioke Enemo as running mate the rest are; Osita Chidoka of UPP with Okeke Marcel Ogbonnaya as deputy, Ozoemena Nonso of YDP with Ugochukwu Nwofor as running mate and Nnaemeka Ifeoma Ezibe (f) with Odiniru Chigozie Faminus as running mate.
