Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has felicitated Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar on the occasion of his 81st birthday, wishing him peace, long life in sound health.
Dr Jonathan described Gen. Abubakar as a statesman and patriot who is devoted to the peace and unity of the nation.
The former President who stated this in a goodwill message he personally signed also commended Gen. Abdulsalami for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development.
He stated: “I join your family and other well-wishers to congratulate you as you celebrate your 81st birthday. Your Excellency, you have been an exemplary leader who has made notable strides and significant contributions to peace, democracy and development in Nigeria and the rest of West Africa.
“I salute your sense of patriotism and devotion to the peace and unity of our country; a passion that motivates you to support and promote many development initiatives. Since leaving office, you have continued to champion good causes, in the interest of peace, equity and national cohesion, leveraging goal-driven platforms like the National Peace Committee which you founded and the West Africa Elders Forum (WAEF).
“I wish you sound health, peace and joy and pray for God’s blessings on you and your family as you celebrate. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency.”
