Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commiserated with the Yar’Adua family over the passing of Hajiya Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, late Shehu Musa Yar’adua, who died on Monday at the age of 102 years.
In a condolence message to the family, the former President described the late matriarch of the Yar’Adua family as an epitome of motherhood who was the mother of his former boss and friend, late President Yar’Adua.
Dr. Jonathan noted that Dada Yar’Adua will be remembered for her selflessness, life of service and love for humanity.
In a statement issued by Ikechukwu Eze, the former President’s media adviser, Dr. Jonathan stated:
“I condole with the Yar’Adua family on the death of their matriarch Hajiya Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of my beloved boss and friend, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
“Dada was a devoted mother who lived a long and glorious life and nurtured her children to greatness and national prominence. As the Matriarch of the Yar’Adua family, Dada was an epitome of motherhood, a symbol of unity, strength and glory.
“She will be missed by many within and outside her family for her life of service and love for humanity. On behalf of my family, I convey my deepest condolences to the Yar’Adua family, their friends and well wishers over this irreparable loss.”
