The ongoing rights issues of Lafarge Africa Plc, which acceptance of rights opened on Friday, 24 November, will close on 17th December, 2017, will commence trading of rights on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), today ,27 November.
This was coming as the building material and sustainable environment expert has listed supplementary shares on the NSE. The company, in a statement published by the NSE, Lafarge Africa listed additional units of 85,261,220 Ordinary Shares on the Daily Official List of The Exchange on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
The shares listed were issued to shareholders of AshakaCem Plc in exchange for their shares in AshakaCem pursuant to a scheme of arrangement for capital re-organisation between AshakaCem and holders of its fully paid ordinary shares of 50k each dated 26 September 2017.
With this additional listing of 85,261,220 ordinary shares, the total issued and fully paid up shares of Large Africa Plc has now increased from 5,490,513,997 to 5,575,775,217 ordinary shares Meanwhile, the company further disclosed that acceptance for its right issues to raise fresh capital, opened on Friday, 24 November 2017, while acceptance list will close on Friday, 15 December, 2017.
According to the company, trading in the Rights of Lafarge Africa Plc will commence today, 27 November, 2017, a development it attributes to its delay in communicating the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval to The Exchange for the creation of code
