NULGE: Gov. Oborevwori congratulates Okwudi on his re-election as Delta President

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Comrade Ziko Okwudi on his re-election as the State President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, (NULGE), Delta State.

Okwudi was re-elected unopposed on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at the 8th quadrennial delegate conference of the Union held at the Labour House, Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

Other Executives returned unopposed at the delegate conference included; Comrade Ogberetitinor Obatarhe, Deputy State President; Comrade Uwasosayemi Kingsley, Treasurer; Comrade Stanley Atugbe, PRO; and Comrade Charles Erhue, Welfare officer.

Also elected were Comrade Victory Asia, Comrade Onovwotu Alfred, Comrade Amgbare Daniel, Comrade Cyril Ozegbe, Comrade Sophia Omoregbe, and Comrade Areh Juliet.

In a congratulatory message by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori said Okwudi’s re-election indicated the full confidence of local government workers on his ability to lead them.

Governor Oborevwori welcomed Mr. Okwudi’s re-election assuring him that the Delta State Government would cooperate with him and his new team to enhance cordial industrial relations and welfare of local government workers in furtherance of his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda aimed at advancing Delta.

“As Comrade Okwudi and his State Executives take over the mantle of leadership of Delta NULGE for another four years, Governor Oborevwori hopes that they will maintain and build on the cordial and friendly relations developed between the Delta State Government, the NULGE and other labour unions in the state.

“We look forward to working with Comrade Okwudi and his incoming administration to fully actualize the plans for improved welfare and better working conditions for local government workers in the state.

“Governor Oborevwori is of the firm belief that Comrade Okwudi will once again bring his wealth of experience at the helm of the Delta NULGE, to work harmoniously with his Executive to achieve the much desired welfare and improved working conditions for local government workers,” he stated.

He wished Comrade Ziko Okwudi and his Executive a successful tenure in office.
