Oborevwori congratulates Dame Grace Okubor at 93

Delta Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the matriarch of the Okubor family, Dame Grace Chinyere Okubor as she clocks 93 years.

Mrs Okubor, an illustrious Deltan from, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state is a retired teacher, Midwife, Nurse and Community Health Officer who retired in 1983 from the defunct Bendel State Ministry of Health.

Governor Oborevwori in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, lauded Mrs Okubor for her tremendous contributions to nation building.

He said that Okubor had made remarkable contributions to the development of Nigeria, especially as a retired Nurse, teacher and Community Health Officer.

Oborevwori described Okubor as a role model and exemplary mother who gave birth and nurtured her children to become reputable medical doctors, lawyers and successful men and women in the society.

“As a retired Nurse and Community Health Officer, you have continued to render indelible service to our state and country.

“It is on record that you distinguished yourself in the service of the defunct Bendel State Civil Service and we remain very proud of your sterling accomplishments in life.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you, Dame Grace Chinyere Okubor on the occasion of your 93rd birth anniversary.

“I join your family, political associates, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for your life which has been marked by robustly sterling accomplishments and abounding fulfillment.

“As you celebrate this anniversary, it is my prayer that Almighty God continue to bless you with good health and more years of happiness and contributions to nation-building,” Oborevwori added.

Dame Okubor, a prayerful mother of all is a Knight of the Anglican Church and mother to a former Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr Festus Okubor, Mrs Grace Ogbuagu, a retired Principal special grade; Dr Adeline Aluge; Barr Victoria Irabor Company Secretary, Nigeria Security Printing and Minting company and wife of General LEO Irabor, immediate past Chief of Defence Staff; Dr Paul Okubor, Permanent Secretary, Delta State Hospitals Management Board and Arc Peter Okubor.
