Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly and PDP governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as he clocks 59.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, on Sunday, Okowa joined the parliament, Okpe constituents, Delta PDP, friends and family of Oborevwori in celebrating him, the man of destiny.
He said that Oborevwori, who is the longest serving Speaker in Delta’s parliament, had made invaluable contributions to good governance as well as growth and development of the state.
He lauded him for his astute leadership of the legislature, especially the peace that had continued to permeate the Assembly, culminating in a robust and healthy relationship between the legislature and the other arms of government in the state.
According to the governor, the state parliament under Oborevwori’s astute watch has remained very peaceful and always ready for speedy passage of Bills in the interest of our people and of good governance.
“You have continued to demonstrate uncommon selflessness in ensuring that your constituency and that of your colleagues enjoyed democracy dividends in all spheres.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I celebrate with you, our dear Speaker and gubernatorial candidate of our great party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, on the occasion of your 59th birth anniversary.
“Mr Speaker, I celebrate your sagacious lifestyle in the discharge of the functions of your office, and as a government, we join every Deltans in celebrating you.
