Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has congratulated Rt. Rev’d Kingsley Obuh on his consecration as Bishop of Asaba Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
In a congratulatory message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, Okowa said that the people of Asaba and Deltans, especially members of the church, were proud of Obuh for the new responsibility in the Lord’s vineyard.
He lauded Obuh’s emergence after a highly competitive selection process, saying that as a former Administrative Secretary to the Primate of Anglican Communion, he would bring his wealth of experience to deliver on the episcopal task.
The governor noted that the Bishop was taking over the mantle of leadership of the diocese from the retired Rt. Rev’d Justus Mogekwu whose tenure witnessed phenomenal growth and development of the diocese.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I congratulate Rt. Rev’d Kingsley Chukwukamadu Obuh on his consecration as the Bishop of Asaba Diocese, Anglican Communion.
“With your resounding intellect, great pastoral zeal and compassion, you have over the years risen above board by preaching the word of faith towards repentance.
“It is our prayer that in your new position, God will use you to counsel and move the entire Asaba Diocese in the direction that you have been ordained to lead,” he said.
The governor wished Bishop Obuh God’s guidance and success in his new assignment.
