Governor of Delta, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated former Jigawa Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, on his 74th birth anniversary.
Okowa in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, described Lamido as debonair public servant, statesman and patriot whose contributions to national development remained remarkable.
Okowa, who is the Vice-Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lauded the Septuagenerian for his sterling accomplishments as a former governor and Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He noted that the PDP chieftain had remained steadfast in his quest for a just and egalitarian society, and urged him not to despair.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I congratulate a distinguished leader and political icon, Alhaji Sule Lamido, on his 74th birth anniversary.
“We rejoice with you, members of your family and political associates in celebrating a life of great accomplishments in public service.
“It is our prayer that God will continue to grant you greater years ahead to continue in your service to our great nation,” he stated.
