Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated former Minister of Defence and renowned Paediatrician, Dr. Roland Oritsejafor, as he clocks 75 years on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Okowa lauded the former minister for his peaceful disposition in politics, describing him as “a great leader and patriot”.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, on Thursday in Asaba, the governor remarked that Oritsejafor possessed leadership qualities that were worthy of emulation.
According to him, Oritsejafor, a former Deputy National Secretary Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is an exemplary leader and role model who through his personal sacrifice and leadership by example contributed immensely to the winning streak of the party in the state since 1999.
Okowa stated that Oritsejafor’s place in history as a detribalised Nigerian and respected leader was assured from the numerous testimonies of his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to nation-building.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate our leader and elder statesman, Chief Dr Roland Lere Oritsejafor, as he celebrates his 75th birth anniversary.
“As a member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council, you have continued to offer your wealth of experience to the service of our dear state.
“As a politician, you have remained outstanding and an inspiration to many political watchers and we thank you for your continuous role in providing leadership and mentorship to our new generation of politicians.
“Your contributions to the winning streak of our party in Delta remains indelible.
“In building our Stronger Delta, we will continue to leverage the peaceful disposition, solidarity and support of highly accomplished and respected statesmen like you.
“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 75 years of a life of outstanding patriotism and great accomplishments,” he said.
