Nigeria’s Super Falcons began their 2018 West African Football Union Women’s Nations Cup on a winning note, defeating Mali 1-0 in their Group B fixture late Thursday night.
Peace Efih scored the only goal of the game to hand Thomas Dennerby his first win in charge of the African champions.
In the other group game, Senegal mauled Togo 6-0 to move top of the group with a superior goal difference.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Senegal in their next game on Saturday while Mali will face Togo in the other group fixture.
