3SC disown player Ogini arrested by EFCC for alleged fraud in Ibadan

The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Ibadan, also known as 3SC, has disowned a player who claimed to be a member of the 3SC feeder team, arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged internet fraud.
DAILY POST recalls that the anti-graft agency had on Tuesday said it arrested three men among whom were one Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo who claimed to be a member of the 3SC feeder team on Monday.
The EFCC said it arrested Ogini alongside his brother-in-law, Alabi Okikiola; and his friend, Jonas Okwuwe; at a location within the Fortune Estate, Ologuneru Olonde area of Ibadan.
Their arrest followed a petition from a neighbour, who raised high suspicion on the reckless and flamboyant lifestyle of the suspect, without any known reasonable source of income.
But the club, while reacting, said that it has no feeder team as claimed by the self-acclaimed player.
The club’s media officer, Tosin Omojola denied knowledge of the arrest of any 3SC player.
Also, a former player of the club, who is now on loan to Crown FC, known as Ogini Olatunbosun, said he was not the one arrested by EFCC.
Omojola said, “Our attention has been drawn to a report linking one, Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo, reported to have been arrested by the EFFC, to the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan.
“We would like to inform the public that 3SC currently do not have a player named Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo and that the team does not even have a feeder team as at this moment, following the disbanded of the feeder team over a year ago.
