Ibom Air has successfully operated its first scheduled international flight from Uyo to Accra and back, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s growth and firmly positioning the Victor Attah International Airport as a bona fide international gateway into and out of Nigeria.The historic flight, which took place on Sunday, 28 June 2026, also demonstrated seamless connectivity, with passengers transiting from Abuja to Accra and from Accra to Abuja via Uyo.
Speaking on the milestone, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air, Mr. George Uriesi, expressed his excitement:
“We are delighted to have commenced international operations out of Uyo. More importantly, we successfully facilitated seamless transit for passengers between Abuja and Accra through Uyo. The service offers travelers from Abuja and neighboring states convenient access to Accra via Uyo, providing a stress-free and world-class travel experience.
