The Senior Political Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo has said the State Government is looking into issues impeding investment and ease of doing business in the State with a view to addressing them.

Senator Aguariavwodo stated this when he received on courtesy visit, the Chairman and members of Non-indigenes Group, led by its President, Sir Bernard Agazuma in his office in Asaba.

He said that the Oborevwori’s administration would partner with the private sector to invest in the power sector and industrialise the State.

The Senior Political Adviser said that with the improved peace and security in the State, Delta ranked far above other States as an investment destination.

He enjoined the non-indigenes to remain peaceful and urged them to take advantage of the investor-friendly atmosphere in the polity to bring more of their businesses to Delta State.

Aguariavwodo said: “Governor Oborevwori is working hard to improve the ease of doing business in the Delta, in order to encourage the influx of investors into the State.

“Our Governor is a man of action and he has promised Deltans he is going to do MORE and he has started.

“I believe that the Governor is going to be a blessing to Deltans, including the non-indigenes.

“Our programmes will lead to the development of the State and all the issues that are impediments to industrialization and infrastructural development are being looked at with a view to eliminating them.

“Delta is a home of peace and if you look at the crime statistics in Nigeria, Delta is well ahead of many States and we encourage investors to come and invest because it will provide work for our people,” Aguariavwodo said.

Earlier, Sir Agazuma said they were at his office to felicitate with him on his appointment as Senior Political Adviser, noting that his appointment was well-deserved.

He said the group, which comprised of Arewa, Ibos, and Yoruba in the South-South, was formed to support the State Government in ensuring peace and economic development of the State.

Agazuma further said that were working to bring more businesses to the State and called for the support of State Government in attracting further investments into the State.
