President Muhammadu Buhari shares in the joy of celebration with former Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor Umaru Shehu, on his 92nd birthday, December 8, 2022, rejoicing with the renowned scholar for a life of service to God, country and humanity.

President Buhari affirms that Shehu, a professor of medicine, who served the country in many capacities, exemplifies humility, capacity and diligence, qualities that have continually placed him on global demand for leadership, especially in educational development.

As the former 11th Vice Chancellor of UNN turns 92, the President extols his perseverance, resilience and discipline in dedicating his time and talent to pursuing a better health system through teaching, research and publications, and accepting leadership responsibilities that have galvanized many institutions.

President Buhari notes Prof Shehu’s preference for serving the country, and willingness to inspire a new generation of scholars and leaders.

The President prays for grace of more strength and good health for the scholar, medical doctor and administrator.
